Why does the UK have such poor Eurovision results of late? Well the British press love to say that Europe hates us. The latest example? The Mail on Sunday claiming that BMG and other big labels are boycotting the BBC and refusing to send acts to Eurovision 2022 because of a perceived anti-British bias. While record labels may be nervous owing to a string of poor results, the notion of Europe disliking the UK and its artists is rather silly. We discuss.

Eurovision 2022 rules allow for pre-recorded backing vocals (REACTION)
Tuesday Sep 07, 2021
Tuesday Sep 07, 2021
The Eurovision 2022 rules will allow pre-recorded backing vocals following a trial run in Rotterdam. Previously, the EBU said the inclusion of recorded backing vocals were to help the contest become more sustainable by reducing costs and allowing delegations to travel to the song contest with fewer people. But some fans worry Eurovision is moving away from its roots and becoming a lip-synch event. We discuss.

We spoke with the Eurovision 2021 winners inside Rotterdam Ahoy following their second rehearsal, a week before the grand final. Among other things, bass guitarist Victoria De Angelis tells us that she doesn't feel like she faces any particular challenges as a woman in rock, partly because of the support she receives from band mates Damiano David, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio. They also discuss busking and the bullying they faced in high school.
