UK Eurovision 2022: Music labels ”boycotting” BBC over ”anti-British bias” (Reaction)

Why does the UK have such poor Eurovision results of late? Well the British press love to say that Europe hates us. The latest example? The Mail on Sunday claiming that BMG and other big labels are boycotting the BBC and refusing to send acts to Eurovision 2022 because of a perceived anti-British bias. While record labels may be nervous owing to a string of poor results, the notion of Europe disliking the UK and its artists is rather silly. We discuss.

Eurovision 2022 rules allow for pre-recorded backing vocals (REACTION)

The Eurovision 2022 rules will allow pre-recorded backing vocals following a trial run in Rotterdam. Previously, the EBU said the inclusion of recorded backing vocals were to help the contest become more sustainable by reducing costs and allowing delegations to travel to the song contest with fewer people. But some fans worry Eurovision is moving away from its roots and becoming a lip-synch event. We discuss.

Måneskin "Zitti E Buoni" (Italy) Interview @ Eurovision 2021 second rehearsal

Our interview with Italy's Måneskin is our first to reach one million views on YouTube. In honour of that, we're re-uploading the interview here on our podcast. We spoke with the Eurovision 2021 winners inside Rotterdam Ahoy following their second rehearsal, a week before the grand final. Among other things, bass guitarist Victoria De Angelis tells us that she doesn't feel like she faces any particular challenges as a woman in rock, partly because of the support she receives from band mates Damiano David, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio. They also discuss busking and the bullying they faced in high school.

William and Suzanne were on-the-ground in Rotterdam, while Oliver and Jonathan were watching from the comfort of home. Switzerland's Gjon's Tears won the jury vote, while Italy's Måneskin took the public vote. Alban Ramosaj Interview: Kënga Magjike 2021 Winner on Festivali i Këngës and Albania Eurovision dreams

Alban Ramosaj is a Dutch-Albanian singer, songwriter and model. And recently he was named winner of Kënga Magjike 2021 with the song "Thikat e mia". Alban, who traveled to Rotterdam to support Anxhela Peristeri, tells our Deban .Would he consider going to Eurovision? "I hope to be part of it! Absolutely! You get my energy: Hell yeah!" (Gjon's Tears was his favourite in 2021). Alban comes from quite the musical family. His sister Beatrix Ramosaj is known as the Albanian Rihanna.

William and Oliver discuss the Eurovision 2021 Semi-Final 2 split results, looking at discrepancies with the jury vote and public vote. Switzerland’s Gjon’s Tears won overall, while Denmark’s Fyr Og Flamme just missed out on qualification (despite making the Top 10 with the public). Finland's Blind Channel won the televote, while Switzerland's Gjon's Tears won the jury vote.
