San Marino Eurovision 2021: Review - Senhit & Flo Rida "Adrenalina"
Wednesday May 05, 2021
Wednesday May 05, 2021
The Freaky Queen is back representing San Marino at Eurovision 2021... but this time, she's got international rap sensation Flo Rida joining her. Will Senhit qualify for the Eurovision grand final with "Adrenalina"? The Wiwi Jury discuss. Wiwiblogger Sebastian in Australia writes:
"Like the little engine that could, it’s really hard to not like a Sammarinese entry. San Marino and Senhit have pulled out all the stops to show that they can be all class. 'Adrenalina' is Latin-pop, by the numbers, delivered in a superior package. A potential cameo by Flo Rida turns 'Adrenalina' up to 11 and really makes it a force to be reckoned with."

Poland Eurovision 2021: Review - Rafał "The Ride"
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Hold on for the ride of your life! Rafał is representing Poland at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam with the song "The Ride". Will he speed through to the final on Saturday 22 May, or will Rafał be taking the next ride home? The Wiwi Jury discuss. Wiwiblogger Kristín in Iceland writes:
"This song has everything we needed after a rather bleak year. It’s sleek, it’s fun, it’s hot and it’s cool all at the same time and it has that ’80s feeling that can light up any party. Poland has had its hits and misses through the years, but this time they definitely have a hit. Rafał is asking us to hold on for the ride of our lives, and I for one, am buckled up and ready to go. Bring it!"

Greece Eurovision 2021: Review - Stefania "Last Dance"
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
The Wiwi Jury discuss Greece's Eurovision 2021 entry "Last Dance" by Stefania. Will she make it through the semi and dance one last time in the Eurovision grand final? Wiwiblogger Deban writes:
"This is an excellent offering. It straddles the decades without sounding overworked. Visually, this is Greek; musically, it is global. Fittingly, Stefania holds a presence in Eurovision’s host country. She’s Dutch with Greek roots. Her youthful looks and nimble moves are key assets. Vocally, she can do pop. As a total package, 'Last Dance' courts enough traction from televoters, club kids and music experts. Miss Liberakakis will be flying her pegasus all the way to a top ten finish at the grand final."

United Kingdom Eurovision 2021: Review - James Newman "Embers"
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
James Newman will sing "Embers" for the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam. Will he light up the room and bring the UK its first Eurovision victory since the 1990s? The Wiwi Jury discuss James' chances. British wiwiblogger Lucy says:
"James Newman has brought the popular and exciting brand of pop he is known to be a songwriting master of with great success — a fantastic move compared to last year’s 'My Last Breath'. This would be right at home on the biggest TV shows over here such as Love Island due to the bold summer vibes. It’s clear the BBC is ready to turn things around by being authentic to the artist."

Georgia Eurovision 2021: Review - Tornike Kipiani "You"
Monday May 03, 2021
Monday May 03, 2021
The Wiwi Jury discuss Georgia's Eurovision 2021 entry "You" by Tornike Kipiani. Will Georgia qualify for the final for the first time since 2016? Wiwiblogger Lucy writes:
"Sometimes simplicity can soar, and that’s exactly what’s happened with 'You”' Understated and beautiful, Tornike’s second attempt at Eurovision is unique to anything ever entered in Eurovision before. This calm and romantic sound is popular right now too, with Harry Styles mastering the genre (no really, I compared Tornike to Harry Styles). Do I think it’ll qualify? With Georgia, you never know. Their choices for Eurovision will never be safe, and for that, I will always applaud them. 'You' is gorgeous, and I’m very interested in how they even stage this."

Italy Eurovision 2021: Review -Måneskin "Zitti E Buoni"
Monday May 03, 2021
Monday May 03, 2021
Serving high glamour post-punk fashion, Måneskin will sing "ZITTI E BUONI" for Italy at Eurovision 2021. Are they headed for victory, or will Europe tell them to "shut up and be quiet"? The Wiwi Jury discuss. Wiwiblogger Luis writes:
"Updating a formula is not an easy task, but Italy’s Måneskin have succeeded. Their sound blends rock bands from the previous decades and updates it for 2021, while giving it an extra dose of glam. “Zitti E Buoni” is a punch on the face made with gusto. It’s edgy and elegant, gritty yet classy. The band has proven their live abilities during the five nights of Sanremo: Italy is bound to have one of the most exciting performances of the year."

Croatia Eurovision 2021: Review - Albina "Tick-tock"
Monday May 03, 2021
Monday May 03, 2021
She'll take you dancin'! Albina is representing Croatia at Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam with her high energy pop song "Tick-Tock". But will Croatia find its way back into the Eurovision grand final? The Wiwi Jury discuss Albina's chances. Wiwiblogger Sebastian writes:
"Well, this is a very pleasant surprise! In a region that specialises in sticking in its lane re traditional ballads, its great to hear new sound emanating from the region. Albina’s definitely earned her place at Eurovision this year with a solid pop song, strongly performed and staged already at the national final. Where the song could fall, is whether people look past its seemingly simple-pop façade."

Rafał Brzozowski "The Ride" | Poland Eurovision 2021 Interview
Sunday May 02, 2021
Sunday May 02, 2021
Poland's Eurovision 2021 singer Rafał Brzozowski chats with us about his song "The Ride". He says that he came across the song while working on his forthcoming album, which will celebrate his 10th year in the music industry as a solo performer. "I love the sound of retro and 80s, and the Weeknd or Dua Lipa, so I tried to call all of my friends." Among them was the Swedish songwriter Thomas Karlsson, who happened to have "The Ride" (demoed by co-writer Clara Rubensson). Later, when TVP put out a request to a select few artists for an energetic song, Rafał took his chance. "They called me back in two days and said, 'We love this song and The Ride is the one!'" Rafał says the song, which is about perseverance and picking yourself up, is weirdly reflective of his current situation following his split with Anną Tarnowską — his fiancé of eight years — despite being written by someone else with their own story. "It was not on purpose to write a song for me, but now I can say the song was waiting for me. For sure. 100%."
We also discuss the music video, which was filmed at the Neon Museum, located in Warsaw; his first live performance of the song on The Voice Kids of Poland; what it's like hosting Koło Fortuny (Wheel of Fortune) and Jaka to melodia? (Name That Tune); and his time as a wrestler (and why he chose music and entertainment instead).

North Macedonia Eurovision 2021: Review - Vasil "Here I Stand"
Sunday May 02, 2021
Sunday May 02, 2021
The Wiwi Jury reviews North Macedonia's Eurovision 2021 entry "Here I Stand" by Vasil. Will he make it through the semi-finals and stand tall in the grand final on Saturday 22 May? Wiwiblogger Kristín thinks so, and writes:
"I like this song. It's a cliché á la mode song but yet there is something charming and true about it. Vasil's genuine sincerity shines through and that definitely gives an otherwise plain song a much needed boost. It's about raw emotions, and that alone should be the main centrepiece on the Eurovision stage. Vasil is a diamond and must be protected at any cost. With any other singer, this would fall flat, butt Vasil brings that extra kick to the table."
