Our interview with Albina — Croatia's Eurovision 2021 singer. She'll sing "Tick-Tock" during the second half of Semi-Final 1. Following Croatia’s heated nationals selection Dora, Albina did not let the headlines and chatter get to her — instead she embodied the sensible strategy, “music up, drama down”! The Voice of Croatia alum tells us about her entry “Tick-Tock” and letting go of toxic relationships, why she wanted to include some verses in Croatian and how she’s going to turn up the heat in Rotterdam — from dancers to costumes and more (Marvin Dietmann is her stage director). She also shares her love of her hometown Split, tells us what advice fellow star Roko gave her and discusses her journey to confidence and self-belief.

Jendrik will sing "I Don't Feel Hate" for Germany at Eurovision 2021. He caught the eye of NDR's song contest casting agent by making a series of funny "How To Audition for the ESC" videos for his @mynameis_jendrik account on Instagram and TikTok. The "I Don't Hate" lyrics carry a strong message about responding to toxicity on social media — and life — with compassion. Hate is not your burden — that belongs to the person spittin' it!

Benny Cristo will sing “omaga” at Eurovision 2021 for the Czech Republic. A few days after the release of his music video, he joined us for an English-language interview about his mission to deliver positive vibes. He tells us about how he developed the song and lyrics, his collab with producer Filip Vlček, how he approached this differently from his 2020 entry “Kemama” and why he’s been swiping on Tindr (he’s not looking for a hookup). Proud of his Angolan roots, he also recounts how he responded to racism by pushing himself to excel across music, snowboarding and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and how he’s advocating for animal rights as a committed vegan.

Paul Rey (“The Missing Piece”) and Lillasyster (“Pretender”) will live to sing another day in the Second Chance round Andra Chansen. Jessica Andersson, Kadiatou and Nathalie Brydolf were eliminated.
