The first semi-final of MGP 2021 — Norway's national selection for Eurovision — is on Saturday, January 16. Ahead of that, Stig Karlsen, Norway's Head of Delegation for Eurovision, teased what we can expect this year at Melodi Grand Prix. Among other things, he discusses the brilliant line-up of 26 artists, KEiiNO's return with "Monument", how he chooses the pre-qualified songs, the massive stage, the move to online-only voting, the new wildcard round, how NRK will avoid a repeat of the voting controversy from last year and why Ulrikke wasn't internally picked this year.

This week in Eurovision, Lithuania guaranteed The Roop a spot in their 2021 final; Albania revealed the 26 artists for FiK 59; Croatia said Dora 2021 acts MUST use pre-recorded backing vocals; and Denmark said it'll pick eight finalists for DMGP, which will take place on March 6.
